Bio:
Jane is a graduate student of the Physics Department of UC Merced in the Beller Lab Group. Born and raised in the Philippines, she obtained both her undergraduate and master's degree in Physics from the National Institute of Physics (NIP) at the University of the Philippines Diliman. Jane was previously a member of the Theoretical Physics Group of NIP, and her researched focus on kinetic theory and stochastics, with her undergraduate thesis focusing on modeling wealth distributions, while her master's thesis explored the steady-state behavior of random walkers subject to stochastic resetting and death. Jane is interested in the application of statistical mechanics to biological systems. Currently, she is delving into the exciting field of soft matter physics. In addition to physics, Jane is interested in social justice, political philosophy, Sid Meier's Civilization VI, and cooking.
