Bio:
Rijan Karkee is a Ph.D. student researching theoretical condensed matter physics. His research interests is in 2D materials and materials for energy applications. He completed a project on MoS$_2$, where the MoS$_2$ with Ni doping is useful to enhance durability and lower coefficient of friction, especially for space application. He is currently studying the optical anisotropy in 1D perovskites. He is originally from Nepal, where he received an undergraduate degree in Applied Physics. He likes to play football (soccer), table tennis and chess.
