The School of Natural Sciences at UC Merced invites applications for a faculty position in experimental Condensed Matter/Atomic, molecular and optical Physics (CM/AMO) to start as early as July 1, 2015 at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track).
We are seeking exceptionally qualified candidates with expertise in areas including, but not limited to, nanoscience, ultrafast optical phenomena, fundamental quantum processes and information processing, atomic cooling and trapping, photonics and semiconductor physics. Special consideration will be given to applicants who participate in interdisciplinary research, and who will complement our existing Physics faculty in terms of research and diversity.

A Ph.D. in Physics or a related scientific field, demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, and strong interpersonal communication skills are required. Postdoctoral research experience is strongly preferred.
Salary is based on the University of California academic salary scales.
